    This company is specialized in the delivery of high tech fire and security systems. This can vary from basic security systems to advanced big scale security systems with all the necessary IT systems combined. Their site in Weert has around 100 employees and is part of a worldwide concern counting more than employees. The Demand planning department where this position is part of counts 4 employees and is closely collaborating with other teams on the same floor. It is an international working environment where the main language is English.


    The key responsibilities of the Demand Planner position are as follows:

  • Facilitate Monthly Product and Demand Reviews: Conduct monthly product and demand reviews as an integral part of the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process to ensure alignment between demand and supply.

  • Establish 18-Month Rolling Demand Plan: Create an 18-month rolling committed unconstrained demand plan in both units and currency (€) at various levels of aggregation, considering the specific product families, business units, and geographical regions.

  • Utilize Demand-Planning System: Utilize and maintain a demand-planning system to generate the most appropriate statistical forecast, utilizing various techniques.

  • Collaborative Consensus-Based Reviews: Engage in collaborative consensus-based reviews with key stakeholders, including product management, sales, marketing, and operations, to incorporate their insights into the demand plan.

  • Generate and Share Reports: Create and distribute demand planning reports to key stakeholders, effectively communicating assumptions, drivers, recommendations, risks, and opportunities related to the demand plan.

  • Input to Supply/Manufacturing Planning: Provide input to the supply and manufacturing planning organization regarding forecast changes for existing items, phase in/out strategies, and proposals for optimizing inventory levels.

  • Standard Demand Planning Activities: Execute various standard demand planning activities, including statistical analyses, product life cycle management, what-if scenario analysis, root cause analysis, and the assessment of market trends and demand drivers.

  • Optimize Inventory Management: Develop and maintain an optimized inventory plan with a focus on minimizing costs and maximizing inventory turnover.

  • Monitor Forecast Changes: Develop, monitor, and communicate reports on changes in forecast accuracy to business units and supply chain organizations, while driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • These responsibilities highlight the role’s involvement in aligning supply chain operations with consumer demand, optimizing inventory, and enhancing the accuracy of demand forecasting to support overall business objectives.


  • Education and Experience:A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering.At least 2 years of relevant experience in areas such as Supply Chain Planning or Inventory Optimization.

  • Technical Competencies:Strong understanding of demand planning techniques, including statistical forecasting, multi-level forecasts, seasonal profiling, econometrics, and market intelligence.Proficiency in demand planning methodologies and tools.Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.Experience with what-if scenario analysis and data-mining.

  • Analytical Skills:Ability to work with numbers and perform in-depth data analysis.Aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving, particularly when addressing forecast variances and market trends.

  • Communication and Collaboration:Excellent communication and facilitation skills to drive consensus among key stakeholders.The ability to liaise effectively with various levels of management and functions within the organization.Customer-driven approach, focusing on aligning demand with customer needs.

  • Initiative and Work Ethic:Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency and the ability to meet specific deadlines.Self-motivated and proactive, with a “get things done” attitude.Willingness to drive continuous improvement in demand planning processes.

  • Certification and Qualifications:Willingness and expectation to become Six Sigma certified or possess equivalent experience.The ability to pursue or possess an APICS CPIM certification, with prior certification considered a plus.

  • Track Record:A proven track record in supply chain planning and/or inventory management.Experience in optimizing inventory levels and enhancing forecast accuracy.

  • Relationship Building:The capability to build constructive and effective relationships with diverse business partners, including sales, marketing, and manufacturing teams.

  • Presentation Skills:Effective communication in various presentation settings, from one-on-one to large groups, and with peers and executives.
