- Healthineers as Head Of Environmental Health, Safety & Facilities
- (EHS&F) within the Point of Care Diagnostics business line for our Sudbury,
- Eindhoven & Vadadora facilities, based at our facility in Sudbury, Suffolk
- UK.
This position offers an opportunity
to have a positive impact by delivering a world class team across sites in the UK, Netherlands and India to ensure business
continuity, whilst driving and implementing improvements throughout the business.
Responsibilities
- As a member of the Leadership Team, manage the business EHS & Facilities budget, including both operational and CapEx expenditure
- Planning, initiation and coordination of continuous improvement with top management, providing concepts and pragmatic tools, initiating best practice sharing
- To ensure documentation, processes and participation for internal and external audits (to both international and corporate standards) are in place
- To ensure the Safety reporting process is effective and that EHS investigations are assigned investigative staff as appropriate, and responses collated into reports and shared with external bodies as appropriate (eg. UK HSE, Environment Agency, regulatory bodies, etc)
- Be the site subject matter expert concerning industrial EHS, facilities management and product related EHS (REACH, RoHS, Waste Management & Energy Regulations etc.) to maintain the legal register and ensure the statutory inspection process is effective
- To ensure EHS training is provided & delivered according to the EHS training matrix, specialist requirements and international needs
- Create internal processes such that all staff are able to carry out some level of safety or environmental inspections (PUWER, COSHH, 5S, Energy, Waste etc.)
- To create and maintain a performance monitoring and measuring matrix concerning site safety, wellbeing, environmental performance and facility management
- Manage and maintain an effective visitor and contractor management process ensuring the safety of staff, visitors and contractors while ensuring the environmental impacts of contractor works are minimised
- Ensure that the business is prepared for emergency situations such as fire, government visits and other situations requiring a business continuity plan
- To provide leadership and direction to direct reports and their teams, championing company best practice, leadership and business principles. Build, develop, and manage operations team capable of carrying out needed operations and improving employee relations
Qualifications
- Relevant Safety qualification at Level 6/7 (eg. NEBOSH)
- Membership of relevant professional Safety organization (eg. IOSH, IEMA)
- 10+ years experience in a safety and environmental management and facilities management
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Environment, Management or other relevant field preferred
- IT literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers
- Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
- Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets
- An appreciation of working together across different cultures – international experience is a plus
- You will be curious – keen to understand, learn and try new things, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills
